Though my life story reads more like an adventure novel set in such exotic locations as Costa Rica, Hawai'i, and the Desert Southwest, I was born in the State of Maine and grew up in Seattle. An East Coast girl growing up in a West Coast world. Weekends were spent up at Mount Rainier, hiking and skiing in the National Park, Christmas's were spent in either Costa Rica or Hawai'i.
I began reading before the age of three and had been enrolled in an exclusive private school shortly thereafter. Compared to others, I lived a very privileged life. We traveled the world, meeting foreign Presidents and experiencing things that very few had the opportunity. My father, a structural engineer, always had to have the latest and the very best. I was enrolled in college full-time at the age of 16, and graduated with my Associates Degree and High School Diploma just one year later.
This is when I entered my first art show, and also received my certificate as and interior designer and mechanical drafter. With an absolute passion for residential design, I wanted to go on to become an architect, but my parents wouldn’t allow me. As an engineer who built buildings, my father had a strong distain for architects. This is where my life went off course, thus beginning the long path of buying and refurbishing nine houses and condos, my art taking a backseat.
